Headlines API

Available Formats:

• HTML - Plain HTML Format [URL: http://service.edna.edu.au/headline.html ]
• RSS - Default RSS 0.91 Format [URL: http://service.edna.edu.au/headline.rss ]
  • RSS 0.91 Format [URL: http://service.edna.edu.au/headline.rss091 ]
  • RSS 2.0 Format [URL: http://service.edna.edu.au/headline.rss20 ]
• JS - Javascript 1.1 Format [URL: http://service.edna.edu.au/headline.js ]
• XML - EOL format[URL: http://service.edna.edu.au/headline.eol ]

Parameters:

• sector - Sector Alias [MANDATORY]
• items - Number of items to display [OPTIONAL, 1-20, default 10]
• showdesc - Display Descriptions [OPTIONAL, true/false, default true]
• maxdesc - Maximum description length in characters [OPTIONAL, 1-5000, default 1000 (Note, this doesn't apply when the 'showcontent' parameter is true)]
• popup - Popup links in a new window [OPTIONAL, true/false, default true]

Extra Parameters (for HTML version only):

• header - URL of the header component in HTML. [OPTIONAL]
• footer - URL of the footer component in HTML. [OPTIONAL]
• export - Export Items in this category ONLY - No Date information applies [OPTIONAL: 0 or 1 Default 0]

Extra Parameters (for RSS and EOL versions only):

• sitelink - Generate link to article page on site, (rather than DC.IDENTIFIER) [OPTIONAL, true/false, default false]

Extra Parameters (for RSS 2.0 and EOL versions only):

• showcontent - Display stored HTML content rather than DC.DESCRIPTION [OPTIONAL, true/false (Default false)]

Legacy Service API Parameters:

• Legacy api.edna.edu.au does not use parameters.
• /service/headline/X [where X is the sector alias]
• Example: /service/headline/edna returns the EdNA Online headlines
